So I tried the “do nothing” meditation

I watched Shinzen Yung’s video about the Do Nothing meditation, and then I tried it out today. Instead of focusing on calming my thoughts, I dropped my intentions to calm my thoughts, and it was quite a different experience. I was very restless the whole time, and I couldn’t stop shaking my head. I have been diagnosed with ADHD before, so I think it may have something to do with it, and I also had a little caffeine prior to it. A few things stood out to me besides the restlessness too. Firstly, it felt so freeing just letting my body and mind do its thing. Secondly, I didn’t get tired because I wasn’t trying to focus the whole time. And lastly, time seemed to go by twice as fast! I had a timer set for 20 minutes, and by the time it went off, it had only felt like 10 minutes. I think this is going to be the go-to meditation for me now.
