Why do I feel bad about stealing loot.

So, I know Sea of Thieves is all about piracy, but every time I steal loot, I just feel awful.

Today, I joined an alliance with a guy at a Fort of Fortune. He agreed to give me all the Athena loot, and everything seemed chill. But at the last moment, I kegged him and took everything. It was the perfect pirate move, but instead of feeling accomplished, I almost cried.

The thing is, this always happens. Every time I steal or betray someone, I just feel guilty. I know it’s just a game, and piracy is the whole point, but I can’t shake the feeling that I did something wrong. Has anyone else experienced this? How do you get over it?
