Gifting through likes?

When I like lives that I watch frequently I receive a gift badge even though I have no coins and have never put any credit card or payment method on my account. Sometimes, even the account streaming will thank me for the gift. Does this happen to anyone else? And should I be worried about my bank account (I checked and there's been no unknown withdrawals)?
