What are the good things about joining Islam?

First, this isn't intended as some dog whistling critique, but comes from honest interest.

Most things I see talked about Islam are negative things.

Can't eat this, can't drink that, can't do these, can't marry those. And thats completely forgetting the extremist that give a further bad name.

So I was wondering, what does joining Islam give you?

Edit: for context I'm from Germany and grew up in low intensity protestant household.
