I got my first binder!! (I need help)

I just got my first binder as a Christmas gift from my friend and after getting it I put it on (currently wearing it) I chose to leave my bra on under it because it's a loose fitting one. Is it normal to feel like you can't breathe? Like its Not my chest that hurts I just feel like I can't breathe and my chest feels kinda weird, is this weird?
